I will state I cheated and copied the text of the lenses from another post as it was easier than retyping on my phone
I’ve had others over the years but only this right now. It’s a good blend. Considering a small, fast, wide prime, like a 17 or 20mm, but haven’t done anything there yet. Just browsing right now.
Only the top part. I let the ReStore keep the bottom to sell separately.
Everything in the USA seems bigger than in my little crowded island
Cool! Which island?
I like islands. I spent my last fifteen years on an island that was under 20km long. But then, circumstances made me move to a small city. Moved from a big farm on a small island to my step-daughter’s sewing room. So I’m trying to make the best of it.
Here is the previous incantation, which I sold when I moved last year. But I’m not going to have enough room for a floor-standing, so I’m going to hang the new one off the wall.
My first m4/3 camera was the original E-M5. I thought I had really screwed up when I unboxed it. So small! Learned to love it and have bought and sold way to much stuff. Some things I’ve sold I regret and will likely get another copy. In the meantime, this is my current list:
Cameras:
• Olympus E-P1
• Olympus Pen F
• Olympus E-M1 Mark III
• Panasonic GX7
• Panasonic GX85
I don’t usually reply to myself but an update is in order
The GX9 is gone. I loved the GX9 except that my aging eyes couldn’t cope with the awful - and dim - EVF. I initially replaced it with really cheap EM-5 II in virtually “as new” condition which has a lovely bright EVF but I really wanted a “rangefinder”-style body with a decent EVF… On a whim I bought a nice used PEN-F that is arriving today. I know the PEN-F well as I had one a few tears ago so I know I’ll have the same love-hate relationship I have with all Olympus bodies. The E-M5 II will stay of course, invaluable for use with the 12-45 in typical Lancashire weather (wet!).
The Panasonic 12-60 is also gone, replaced with a Panasonic 14-45 that is in a different league as far as image quality goes - and it was dirt cheap despite its pristine condition. The G100+14-45 is a superb lightweight combination that will get a lot of use. If the GX9 had the same EVF as the G100 I would never have parted with it; it’s nothing like as good as an OLED EVF but it’s big, bright and very usable.
Finally I also added a really cheap used Samyang 7.5 fisheye (£65!), another lens I’ve owned before. I think I’m done for now…
